When You Pray, God Don’t Play!

Have you ever really gone to God in prayer consistently?  Yes, I am a Christian.  Yes, I believe what the bible says.  Yes, I believe in prayer.  But I admit, my prayer life could be better.  However, after a recent class on prayer at my church, and a commitment to pray more consistently, I have come to realize and experience that “When You Pray, God Don’t Play!

Families that pray together stay together

A new commitment

After going through the class and just having my mind opened wide up about the topic of prayer, how to pray, and what to pray, I committed to do better.  I committed to joining my church members for a prayer call every morning at 6:30am, I recommitted to waking up earlier each morning to have private time in prayer, reading my bible, and just being thankful.  Since then God has just really “acted up” (in a good way), and I think He is only getting started.

Answered prayers

  • My wife and I have gotten up early, and exercised every other morning together.  Something we’ve never been able to do together, and one of our goals toward living an active lifestyleAnswered Prayer!
  • My mother-in-law was waiting on a diagnosis from the doctor with a concern that cancer cells were spread in her body, leading to a 2nd operation (or worse).  The doctor’s office called this week, and said the initial report of a 2nd operation to remove cancer cells was wrong.  No cancer cells, no operation needed!  Answered Prayer!
  • I set a goal at the beginning of the month to secure 3 guest post opportunities on other blog(s). Last week I got invited to be a weekly writer for one of the top family blogs.  That is not just 3 guests posts, but 4 per month!  Answered Prayer!
  • Our 2-year old son is now potty trained!  Big boy is wearing real undies!  Haha  That may seem insignificant, but God hears all our prayers, and I am sure this was a BIG one for my wife!  😀 Answered Prayer!

I don’t know where you stand in your faith and in regard to prayer, but be encouraged.  There is truly power in prayer, and like I found out, “When You Pray, God Don’t Play!”

  1. I know this may sound silly, but My Love is the answer to a very long prayer. I had a very hard time dating; I’ve been sexually assaulted, emotionally and physically abused. As I was approaching 30, I was lost. I was completely done. I thought I’d be alone forever. Yet, all I wanted was a loving, strong MAN. It seemed impossible to find a real MAN. My Daddy (who is an incredible husband and father) would joke about how he understood how hard it must be for me in the dating world… Then, he would get serious and say, “Men aren’t men anymore. They are boys. I see your generation is full of the Peter Pan Syndrome.” I agreed. All seemed lost. And as much as I may be a strong woman, I knew that my real purpose in life was to be a wonderful wife and mother.

Then, just when I came to peace with being alone, it was as if GOD said, “You are ready. Here he is.” And he was there… And he was perfect. My Love is the MAN I dreamed and prayed for. He works hard for his family. He is so smart and so strong; yet, he is still so loving and sweet with me. He is just what I always wanted: He is the strong, tough MAN, who just has a soft spot in his heart for me (and his Mother & Baby Sister, which I love!).

He and I say all the time that GOD waited for when the time was just right to answer our prayers about Love. We know GOD knows best, and HE waited until we were ready for each other. And HE was right, as usual. And HE has made us so happy. My Love and I now feel like we have a purpose in life – each other. I cannot even begin to tell you that 6 years later, our Love grows with each passing day. We are perfect for each other. We thank GOD every day for listening to our prayers. We are the happiest we have ever been… EVER!! So, now I pray constantly – because I know that it will absolutely, unequivocally be answered by THE LORD. It may not happen immediately, but it will happen 🙂

I know this was a ridiculously long answer, but I felt I had to share that. I never have commented online ever! Yet, this one was too personal not to share. My Love… Well, he is just to perfect. I had to tell you that he was the answer to my prayer!!

Thank you very much. I’ve just discovered your articles and I am really enjoying reading them. Good Luck and GOD bless you & your family!!
