As a homeschooling family we sometimes get some strange reactions and conversations when we share this with other people. Below are some funny animated videos that resemble some of the conversations we’ve had, as well as some extreme examples of homeschooling stereotypes.
Although we have chosen homeschooling because we believe it is best for our family, we respect the decisions of other families who choose other ways to educate their children. Just like anything else in life worth doing, homeschooling can be challenging, but it is well worth it. We are loving it and our kids are learning, growing, and having fun. Enjoy the videos! 🙂
Question: What question would you like to ask me about my families personal homeschooling experience, or about homeschooling in general? Please share in the comment section below.
I homeschooled my son 8 yr old until he was accepted into a full time gifted program. I miss it!! I was telling my husband I want to homeschool the 4yr old and 2 yr old until my older son completes the program. Any suggestions on educating 3 kids at different ages and stages? Thanks. I don’t want to be overwhelmed:).
Hey Dina. We use a curriculum called Classical Conversations, and we have a 12 yr old, 7 yr old, and 3 yr old (starting the curriculum when he turns 4). It is great for various age ranges and offers a complete curriculum for K-12.
I was home-schooled from K-8 through a correspondence program with Calvert school. I can safely say it was THE best possible education I could have ever received. I’ll sing the praises of Calvert until the day I die 🙂
That is awesome! Thx for sharing!
I have a lot of respect for homeschoolers!
Thx Nicole…although they are “not supermom” (quote from the videos). LOL It can be challenging…just doing something different can be challenging, but I believe well worth it.
LOL, loved your animation did the kids make them? Our family homeschooled for 11 years. It was great I loved it, the kids loved it. I was sorry when the baby graduated I actually had withdrawls at the beginning of the next school year and had to go buy supplies because I missed it so much. If you are thinking of homeschooling, get the laws join a support system and go for it. I wish we would of started earlier!
LOL at the withdrawals! 🙂 No, our kids did not do the animation. I just found them on YouTube…there is a company that will take your text and create an animated video like these. I just pulled some existing videos already out there. 🙂
