I know marriage works. I also know marriage is not easy. My wife and I have been through a lot in our marriage. A lot of it has been heart wrenching, it has been confusing, and it has taken us to places we never thought we’d be. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our marriage works.
Having a healthy and functional marriage is possible and very much worth everything you go through. [Tweet this]
Through it all we can honestly say marriage works, but it has taken us being intentional. We invest in our marriage. If we hadn’t we wouldn’t be married today.
Better to invest sooner rather than later
We had no idea what we were in for when we were first married. We had known each other for about eight years prior to getting married. But that might as well had been eight days!
Being married was totally different from being friends, significant others, or even baby mamma’s and daddy’s (we had our first child together prior to getting married).
Fortunately we recognized this, and a few months after getting married we made our first investment into our marriage. We enrolled in a marriage class at our church. Without it our marriage wasn’t going to work.
A new beginning and a saved marriage
In this class we learned things about marriage and ourselves that we were completely unaware of. The biggest thing we learned was we didn’t know jack about marriage. We were in a commitment, a covenant, and had no idea what it was really about or how to make it work.
From that point on we began to invest in our marriage. We signed up to go on a marriage retreat the following Summer. We began reading about marriage, and how God designed marriage.
Our minds and hearts were opened, and our marriage was literally saved by the things we learned from all of these resources.
Marriage resources are available, you just have to take advantage
Since that point we have made it a practice to invest in our marriage, and this investment continues to pay off. Although we’ve “only” been married 11 years, technology has made marriage building materials much more available today.
Blogs, eBooks, audio and video resources, all available to us 24/7. I am constantly reading, listening to, and watching things which can help me be a better husband for my wife.
With each investment in your marriage, you extend the life of your relationship, and you make marriage work. [Tweet this]
Marriage Works! extended Valentine’s sale
This month we invested in a package of marriage resources from our friends at Marriage Works!. Nineteen total resources in all: 12 eBooks, 4 audios, and bonus gifts.
Money doesn’t flow freely in our household, and we are on a Total Money Makeover. Therefore, any purchase we make has to be inexpensive and fit in our plan. $12 fits this criteria!
When I learned of this sale I was completely shocked! I know what it takes to put together valuable content that helps people. In this case, the package is worth $138, we got it for $12, and so can you. The Valentine’s sale has been received so well, it was brought back for a two day encore.
A great bargain, and a great investment
For your $12 investment, you get the opportunity to build your marriage. The sale is Saturday, February 23rd and Sunday, February 24th ending at 11:59 PM (PST).
