Whiteboard Wise Words – Be Intentional

by

The 1st quarter of 2012 is over!!!  Already!  Wow, to me it doesn’t seem to be that long ago we were setting goals and bringing in the new year optimistic about accomplishing everything we set out for in 2012.  For me there have been some goals I’ve already met, others that I’m on target to meet, and others that have almost completely fallen by the wayside.

That third group of goals frustrates me, yet it happens to the best of us, so I thought about why it happens and how we let it happen.  If you are honest with yourself you will realize that, similar to others, you sometimes go through each day, each week, and each month without a clear purpose or intent.  When this happens time goes by without goals being met or objectives being accomplished.

Be Intentional!

I realized that in order for me to accomplish all that I am working toward, or at least be heading in that direction, I need to BE INTENTIONAL.  So that has become my focus this week.  When I do something I will do it with intention, with purpose, with an intended result that helps me and/or those who it affects.

intention•al = Adjective: Done on purpose; deliberate.  Synonyms: Purposeful, intended.

I encourage you to do the same thing, be intentional about everything you do.  No going through the motions, no being owned by your circumstances or other people, and no wasting time on tasks that won’t bring about results you hope for.

Question:  As of the end of quarter 1, are you on target or off target to achieving your 3 most important goals?
