It’s that time of year! Between now and January 1st, everybody will be talking about the new year, 2017, new year’s resolutions and goals. Then within the first few weeks of January you’ll start seeing the #resolutionfail hashtag in your social media streams.
I am a goal setter. I actually shared my life goals on my blog a few years ago. I don’t think you can accomplish anything of significance without setting goals. And there are a ton of goal-setting programs and tools and methods and the like to help you reach your goals.
I woke up this morning, extremely excited, extremely happy, and extremely energetic! That may be the way you wake up every morning, but I have to admit that hasn’t been my mornings as of late. I’ve not been looking forward to each day, some mornings I’ve been down, and most mornings I’ve been lacking energy.
Have you been there before? Have you gotten into this rut of “blah?” Been in a season of being stuck, uninspired, frustrated with your life, your marriage, or your circumstances? If so, you may be struggling with the same thing that landed me there. The good news is the “fix” is simple. And today, there is no shortage of it around you. My husband has this thing for guns.

My wife and I have had the opportunity to travel more in the past few years than we have over the previous twelve years of our marriage. Blogging, speaking, and writing my book, The 7 Rings of Marriage, has opened up some amazing doors and opportunities to do things we hadn’t done before.
I will be the first to say it hasn’t been without challenges, including the “fun” of traveling together. Today on July 4th in the United States we celebrate Independence Day. One thing that comes to the mind of almost every American when you think of the Fourth of July is…FIREWORKS! Just about every kid has watched some sort of fireworks display whether it be a private display in the backyard, or a public display at the local park (like I did), over the river, or from the rooftops of the big buildings downtown. It is an American tradition and a family tradition!
